Time to return to our beloved NCR. After this week's resurgence of mid-summer heat, temperatures are cooling down starting Friday and by Saturday we're looking at ideal (!!!) running conditions out on the trail.
Let's meet at the Papermill Rd parking lot at 09:30 AM. Sorry, that's much later than usual but fortunately temps aren't going up much so we'll still have a cool run.

Since all of you are familiar with the route I won't be deliberating any further. Suffice to say that it's an out and back with distance markers located at every mile. Be advised that our starting point is at 0.5 Mi, so make sure to factor that in when determining your total.
- Baltimore marathon runners: the race is 4 weeks out. This is the last best opportunity for your peak mileage long run. Those that ran C&O canal last week: Feel free to stick with 20 but if you recovered well from last weekend, don't hesitate to add 1 or 2 more miles to the distance.
- Half marathon runners: Welcome to peak mileage. You'll be doing the full 13+ miles this Saturday. Your turn-around point should be Monkton. Be sure to hydrate and refuel then head back to the parking lot with a concerted, well-paced effort.
- There is water and restrooms at Monkton (located at 6.7 Mi).
- If you're running the White Marsh 4 Miler beforehand let me know. This can be a great training stimulus: a strong workout followed by a long run on tired legs. Make sure to take it easy on the long run, ease into a comfortable pace and focus on form all the way to the finish.
