1/24/2016: Patapsco Valley State Park

This week we will VERY VERY TENTATIVELY be running on SUNDAY with a tentative 10 am start, although with the current forecast we are about 95% sure we will cancel the run - keep an eye out for an email by Sunday morning at the latest to confirm.

However if by some miracle all the forecasts are wrong and we're able to go outside again by mid-morning on Sunday, this week's run will take us through Patapsco Valley State Park just southwest of the city, which by then should be a veritable winter wonderland. The half marathon group is scheduled to run 6 miles and the marathon group 10. That's a big jump from last week, so pace yourself out there. We may also choose to cut the run short since it requires considerably more effort to run on snow. Remember to bring several layers to keep you warm and dry, plenty of water, and if you have them, Yaktrax or trail running shoes for added traction.

Right after the run we'll head to Little French Market in Historic Ellicott City for coffee and breakfast which will be paid for by the team. Remember to sign up for carpooling if you need a ride or can provide one.

Meet-up

The meeting time for this week is tentatively 10 AM, although an announcement may be made Sunday morning depending on road conditions. For this run, we will meet in the Avalon area parking lot.  This is inside the park, so there is a $2 entry fee per in-state vehicle with an honor system in effect. Split costs as you wish.
