This week we're heading south of the city for an out-and-back run on the B&A Trail. This is a paved rail trail that is popular with both runners and cyclists. There is snow (changing into rain) predicted for Friday night, so if you have Yaktrax or Microspikes you may want to bring them. We will only cancel the run if the roads are not safe to drive. If we have to cancel, expect an email before 7 AM on Saturday morning.

This is an out-and-back with no trail intersections - you can't get lost! Half marathoners are scheduled for 9 miles and marathoners for 17 miles, but run whatever distance you want. The distance is marked every quarter mile. We'll be starting at the end (13 and change) and will thus see decreasing distance on the way out. Here's a map of the first 9 miles.
If you're running 17 miles, please eat and drink so we don't have to drag you off the trail! There is a bathroom that the marathoners will pass and a few water fountains, but they may be off for winter. If we have to run through snow, this will take much more energy than running on dry ground, so up your caloric intake accordingly, and slow down.
